Definatley, hopefully the points on either the ATI WU's are increased or nvidias decreased to make it worth while for both sides soon.

This should help fah a lot.

    Pardon?

Eitherway, GPU based computing should be standardised.

Since when is Intel trying to replace the CPU with a GPU? Intel is using a CPU to develop a GPU. Why would Intel want to completely deviate from a market that they've dominated for so long? They've never been able to compete on any level in the GPU market in any way.

That's not accurate at all, Intel has between 40-50% of the entire gpu market share.

True. Don't forget that most people buy prebuilt, are using laptops and/or don't care about games.
And most of those machines run intel GPUs.

    Hmmm dissapointed......

1500 ppd on a 4870x2, unless something is wrong with my setup.

I get typically between 3100-4000ppd with my 4870X2 depending on the project with cat 8.11..not tried 8.12 yet so it does look like somethings amiss with ur setup or its the 8.12's

    Does overclocking 'destroy' hardware?

Sorry to all who know bettr than eye... i noticed the lifespans of my own stuff , certainly seem'd short for the coin spent :( oh well ... just a question.)
sorry to ask yet another ! but is it normal to have 120 /130 fps and not notice any Quality/performance lag from that i have very rudimentary set ,compared to some of theses i've read about here , i really dont like throwing away stuff thats not even .5 yr old AGAIN
