.....'cause with Geforce Experience some game profiles are present, without it they're not present at all, in *newer* (than G.E.) driver versions too.

Example: Mars: War Logs, generic UE4 profile, etc.

    Is it intended?

    Up.

Tested with new 337.88, same "problem": without GE many profiles are missing.
    Is it intended?

Yes, Nvidia pushes new and updated profiles through GFE.

is there a way to get these files without the app?

i really don't want anything besides barebone drivers, physx and nvinspector.

Nope, but you can use the old Nvidia Update, which should be installed if you don't install Geforce Experience.

As I has some time to research, this is what I may found.
Nvidia Update will check for data by connect to https://gfe.nvidia.com , it can be https://gfe.nvidia.com/getsugar.

And it will download files like this, http://m.urlquery.net/report.php?id=1396334986998 .

For me, it downloaded download-cdn.gfe.nvidia.com///packages/Updatus/production/Version2/18551782/0.dat, rename it as updatus.18551782_RUNASUSER.exe and do this.
    Code:
0609-14:51:15.030[I]: Package installation thread has stopped.
0609-14:51:15.030[I]: doInstallUninstall: going to install package '00005ba5' (CoProc update)
    0609-14:51:20.188[I]: Command '"C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\NvBackend\Packages\00005ba5\updatus.18551782_RUNASUSER.exe" /S /p "C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\NvBackend"' finished with code 0
    0609-14:51:20.189[I]: Package '00005ba5' installed
    0609-14:51:21.556[I]: Whitelist merged.
    0609-14:51:21.556[I]: Installation thread started.
    0609-14:51:21.556[I]: ParseSugar: packages parsed
    0609-14:51:21.556[I]: Exiting DoWork.
Someone that having skill to capture packet should be done more than me, so I guess I can just stop at here.:)

    Just do what I do:

    1. Disable anything ShadowPlay/streaming related,
    2. Enable auto-update functions,
    3. Ignore "Optimize Game" feature

Should leave you alone and do what you want. :)

It's what I already do, but it's unnerving that the last driver package hasn't the last updated profiles. It makes no sense to me!

That's how they rope you into using their app. Gotta love big corporations! ;-)

so if I want updated profiles I have to install the geforce program?

because I did a reinstall of the 340.43 drivers and not installed the geforce program and there is not update process or function.

Another question - has an installation bundle all the available (at the moment of bundle creation) profiles?
