    I'm using the latest version of MSI Afterburner with x264vfw codec for recording.

    Everything is working fine in the desktop recording but crashes instantly in games like The Witcher 3 and Euro Truck Simulator 2, I tried using Lagarith and unfortunately I get the same result.

    LE: MJPG works just fine

    Any suggestions fellas ?

    Have you installed both 32- and 64-bit codecs? You may need one or the other.

    If you're *not* using the dedicated encoder server, the requirement depends on the game executable, whether it is 32- or 64-bit.

    If you *are* using the dedicated encoder server, the requirement depends on whether you're using 32- or 64-bit encoder server.

    You can enable the dedicated encoder server in
    Afterburner settings -> Video capture tab -> Use dedicated encoder server.

    You can select which server (32/64-bit) to use in
    Afterburner settings -> On-Screen Display tab -> More -> Wrench icon in upper right corner -> drop down menu next to "Enable dedicated encoder server service".

    Afterburner is a 32-bit application, so the codec configuration button can only configure the 32-bit codec. In order to configure the 64-bit codec, you need to run its global configuration:
    Start Menu -> x264vfw64 -> Configure x264vfw64.

    Thanks a ton gedo, it worked!

    Is there any chance to make H265 work within MSI Afterburner ?

    If there is an VfW Codec for it, sure...

    But... Is it worth it? Do you have hardware, which is capable of encoding H265 in realtime? 'Cause Software encoders still aren't fast enough, even without having the PC busy for gaming.
