Hello , and thanks in advance for your help ! as i need your professional experience with this ..

i have ZOTAC GTX460SE 1 G 256BIT DDR5 card , which works on one of my desktops ( which is old and running win xp ) windows ID the card successfully , but it's not working on my second desktop ( win 7 ) at all , even cant make it till the windows logo...

sometimes i can get into the BIOS and it will hang afterwards, and sometimes the screen will not go up at all ..

am reading on the internet , and i think i would go with firmware flashing ...

any suggestions will be appreciated ..

    Hey,

Check your motherboard BIOS version, upgrade to latest if needed and if update is available.

    Hey,
my old gigabyte gtx460 on a gigabyte mobo work only when i set pci-e to 1.
with pci-e on 2 it was exactly like u described.
with every other mobo it works fine.
perhaps it helps on your sys

thank you for the precious hints ..

my mobo is ga-m52lt-d3p with latest bios ..
i tried to locate the option pci-e but unfortunatly i didnt find it ..

so you dont think it's about the bios of the card it self ?

Well you mobo have only one PCI-E x16.. Maybe it is some incompatibility.. If you have the time and will you could contact Gigabyte (i have got answers from them), as seems problem is more in mobo then in card if other mobo accepts it. And there is no BIOS update for your gpu as it seems.

And have you checked mobo revision? it is 3.0 or 3.1 as 3.1 seems to have newer BIOS in updates.

when i remeber right, i have to press ctrl + F1 in the mobo bios to see the pci-e options.
I dont know if a newer vga bios help.
