Atm yes but with the way current technology is progressing i wouldnt be surprised if Nvidia come out with a TRUE dual GK110.

Anything is possible and i wouldnt rule anything out, Look at what they did with the 690 regarding its cooling features and power draw.

I think a dual GK110 cannot be ruled out yet and it would not surprise me one bit if one was announced, If anybody can innovate and evolve GPU technology its Nvidia (Sorry AMD/ATI):)

I bet they COULD do it, but I dont think they will.
Unless, unless... They do some VERY serious die harvesting and underlocking.

Call me crazy, but I think that within reasonable design/voltage/MHz limits,
bigger die clocked low, is TDP superior to faster smaller die.

    i.e.

underclocked/undervolted 2xGK110 performing similar to 2xGK114 should have lower TDP... but then there is some HPC/GPGPU overhead, so who knows :bang:

    Yup!

    Is possible I agree :D

Hoping for some official news regarding the Titan!... Cant wait to upgrade my machine.

Wanted to upgrade to Haswell and the GTX 670/680 refresh but i got an offer to buy a I7 980X for €250,-.

If this card is true then ill be set again for 1.5/2 years :D ...

P.s. This machine is 3.5 years old and still able to play almost every game at
    1080P with High/Ultra and 2/4x MSAA.

    Awesome value/performance :D

A dual GK110 card would have a TDP in the 450-600watt range..... PCIe spec is 300watt....

    Like yasamoka said...

GTX 580 and 7970GHz are both ~250W chips, and yet dual cards have been built upon them.

I don't really see a dual 7970 card, except the Ares, which doesn't really count. The thing's ridiculous, and there's only like 1000 of them.

As for the 580, yeah sure, it existed, for like 15 minutes, and had all kinds of problems including death by heat. The back of the card could get over 110C with the stock cooler.

You really can't do cards significantly above 300W without extreme cooling.

590 > 690 according to Steam so I guess people are still using it, but nvm that

GK110x2 is doable for bragging rights,

and would likely be the better choice than GK114 in that category
(BW is what's setting upper limit on total perf., so 256bit would get you only so far)

The performance sounds awesome, but enough delays already :bang:

yea.. :heh: at those who said mere 20-40% increase over GTX 680 - its a midrange G_104 for crying out loud :p

But I still dont understand the part where he said, its not based on GK110.. It better not be something with GK104 in it.

    Or my English sucks lol

Will GTX 780 have dual-GPU? If yes then $899 is normal.

To take with a lot of care ... Anyway on performance side.. ( No reason for Nvidia to release a card with 2x the power of the old "generation" ( 100% increase ... ) ( And it will be really hard with the GK110, anyway under 300W )

The slide is taken from the K20x presentation anyway . ( who was surprise all as it show asymetric SMX but in reality one SMX miss ( disabled for respect the TDP of the Tesla server cards ). When Nvidia in general just "erase " the last SMX on the right side .

PowerColor made one and called it Devil13 or something like that but it's PowerColor I'll let your imagination do the work on how well that card did.

Well if that alleged performance is true, then it's definetly deserving of the near $1k price tag.

My issue is that i don't like how performance is constantly being compared to the 690, i would rather it was xx% faster than the 680 as we all know SLI performance is wildly inconsistent.

All in all, it is sounding very much like this was never meant to be a consumer part, but all the hype from the early leaks convinced Nvidia that a super high end limited run would be nice way to bring in some cash as well as help them market the actual GTX7xx cards.

I'm sorry but I'm taking that one with a very large grain of salt. It would be nice if true but it sounds like rainbows and unicorns to me.

1200 for two is not bad compared to the price of one 690 or two 4GB 680s. Defiantly selling my 2x 4gb 680s for 2x titans.
