So does anyone know if AMD is going to start releasing regular driver updates again or keep doing the "one major update with smaller beta" release?

AMD's end user support for drivers are finally starting to wear me out.

Beta drivers work fine. Use Windows 10 drivers they are better than WHQL and beta. Unless you rely Windows Update.

Windows 7/8.1 haven't received major driver updates since these OS's are being replaced by Windows 10. They've only been receiving compatibility support, fixes etc.

Now, in terms of beta vs WHQL, it doesn't really matter. They have to pay for WHQL drivers, it doesn't make much sense if they can release the same driver under a beta label and it costs them nothing :). The same occurs with Nvidia.

WHQL is also slow, it may take 5 weeks for the thing to go through WHQL, after the AMD testing. By using beta drivers, you get it straight away from AMD. It's why they often used to release a beta driver alongside the WQHL driver, the WHQL driver was so old by the time it came out that they needed to, to support new games or whatever.
