Managed to swap my 2600 for a 2600K without any additional costs and got the NH-D14 for €35 :D Right now I'm at 4,6 requiring 1.24-25v. Temps are around 73c max on the hottest core. How realistic would my dream of 5GHz be according to you guys? And will the NH-D14 give me a lot of gain compared to the Gelid Tranquillo rev 2?

    Thanks in advance!

Hmm, that's too high to feel comfortable, especially with the weather right now (when it's not raining :D). Might be a bit lower if the voltages keep playing nice. Thanks for the link, completely missed that one.

Start pushing the CPU and see for yourself. Just like that guy in the link CalculuS posted, i can do 5Ghz 1.44v on my 2500k. With HT on i dont think you can reach that high...

Aaah well, I've got the NH-D15 coming in on monday, we'll see how it goes :) The NH-D14 would have been second hand and the seller had some other interested people, would have taken too long :D

Yeah those temps in benches are pretty much okay. I know a lot of people start shouting "drop vcore, too hot" which is nonsense since an IBT run doesn't even compare/reflect to normal use/gaming/VM's/converting smaller videos etc :bang: I'll post some results later on in this thread.

Take a look at the beauty :D

I'll try to mount it this eve, see how it goes.

UPDATE: Mounted the fan and it fits with Corsair Vengeance (!) Barely that is  5GHz @ 1.384v and idle 1.392 seems pretty good, 2 hours of prime and no crashes. Max temp was around 75c and since nothing stresses the CPU like prime I'm fine :D Thanks for the input guys!

great job, 5ghz is awesome and great temps, i do 3 hours stress on OCCT and 35 standard passes on IBT, then 20 LinX passes on max ram. although as long as your comfortable about its stability its fine. and when you say "barely fits" does it fit properly, im thinking about buying this thing and i wonder if my ram is ok, i have the same corsair vengeance pro stuff

If you're worried about RAM fitting, look into the new version of that (the Noctua NH-D15). I have it on my 4GHz x5670 and the thing sits around 45C max load atm. If that won't fit then look at the Cryorig R1-Universal. It has slim profile fans and slimmer heat towers to fit better without sacrificing a lot of performance.

yes i am after an NH-D15 and i was worried it wouldnt fit with my ram, although after finding other people with the same ram fitting with this cooler due to being able to lift the fan. i dont think i will hit 45c with a haswell xD
