Default Worth change i5 3350p to i5 2500K ? - 04-20-2017, 10:07 | posts: 46 | Location: Czech Republic

Hello, I need a little advice .. I have a chance for a small amount of bucks (approx 20 $ if i sell 3350p after buying 2500K) to change non-overclockable CPU i5 3350p to overclockable i5 2500K which was running whole time on basic frequency. I want to run it with OC aprox. 4,5 GHz (or what it gives).

Is it worth to do it ? I play mostly multiplayer games, like BF (usage CPU 80%/GPU 90-100%) and some MMOs like LOTRO (theres somehow rly low usage CPU 45%/GPU 80%).. and GTA V...

thx for advices.

That's definitely worth the upgrade, especially for MP games. And GTA V will also love it (at 4,5Ghz even more)

ok, thx, and what about RAM ? Change mine to some with better clocks, maybe 1866 or 2133 ? I watched some tests, and its rly noticeable change to have more MHZ on them with combination of i5 2500K .... I have only 1333 ....

Yes, faster ram paired with 2500k at 4.7ghz would be an upgrade indeed. Also, make sure you are running a dual-channel.

Does not really matter. What you need is bandwidth so even a loose 2133mhz is better than a tight 1866 timings.

2x8 seems alright.
