The company Linak was so kind ro sponsor me the lifting columns.

Now its time for some work.I already cut the desk body and the side covers.I also made a movie from the laser cutter cutting the desk body.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJEjW9se0xk

This is how the pieces look after cutting.

Then i bend the pieces with a co-worker ( the guy on the picture ).

    Update 1.

The plan was to finish welding the desk but i made the covers for the columns first.

Here's a drawning of the covers im gonna make.

Lets do some work. This time im making the pieces by hand.

I am using 3mm aluminium for the covers.First i made the angled pieces.

Then i made the rest of the pieces i need.

Time to put the pieces together and spotweld them.

Then i made the last pieces to mount the covers on the desk.

The last pieces spotwelded inside the covers.

Now its time to weld the covers.

    Then some sanding.

The covers are done and this is the way i mount the covers on the desk.

    More to come :)

    Update 2

I finisht welding the desk body and sand it.There is not much to tell about this so here are some pictures of it.

Thats finisht so up to the next job.The psu, cables and the controlbox for the cloumns will be at the back of the desk cover.I'm making a frame for this and then seal it of with a cover.

This is how it looks when its finisht.

First i saw the pieces i need for the frame.

Then i spotwelded the pieces together en then finisht welding them.

This is how im gonna mount the frame on to the desk.

The next thing to do is making the mounting holes for both the column covers as for the frame.

    More to come.

    Update 3.

This weekend i made some progress.I started to work on the frame for the cables etc.

M5 thread rivets ( dont know the english word )

    The pneumatic tool.

I made a short movie how this tool works.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVyycuAtFKM

    Finisht the frame.

After that i made the mounting plate for the frame out of 3mm aluminium and bend it.

Then i drilled and countersunk the holes and mounted the plate on to the frame.

After that i drilled and countersunk the holes inside the desk body and mounted the frame on the desk body.

Now thats finisht i can start to make the bracket for the lifting column. For this i used 3mm aluminium.

    First some cutting.

A flat out astounding amount of progress for only being a few days into your build! Looks like you have the resources, so why not?! Good job bud, the build looks epic, can't wait to see final product.

    Update 4.

This weekend i made some progress again. This week i received the security part for the desk.
Its a hose full of little switches and if 1 switch is pressed then the columns stop moving and go up for about 50mm.

    The package.

Linak also gave me a special connector to connect the jackplug.I already test it and i will make a short movie soon.

    Thank hpr and specially marc.

Also linak called when they seen the update with the lifting column for the screens and told me that i can mount the column up side down because im using it for lcd panels. So i made a bracket for it and mount it on the frame.

Cheapskate asked me why use stock gear and not making a custom stainless steel reservoir so i came up with a new reservoir design.

First i made a few covers on the lathe. Then i drilled and tapped them with g1/4.

Then i saw 4 pieces of 60mm stainless steel pipe.

Then i spotwelded the covers on the pipes and finisht welding them.
