Accepting Donations for Guru3D Servers A few days ago I made a post about how the server is not getting used enough to justify a $90/mo cost. I have recently quit my job, and the server will be no more unless people want to donate to keep it up. I would like to know if members are willing, as well as the amount they can donate each month. I would also like to point out that if we don't get support from our BF2 members, maybe we will get support from a different division and rent a server for that division. I have recently got back into CS, and will be buying CSS soon. Let me know what you guys think. (Please also use the poll)
Good Point. Most people should donate though. It's sort of like what you put in is what you will get out. If we don't have the funds we won't have the games and I am sure more people will play if they have to pay for it. btw: are you going to use PayPal for this, or another way to tranfer donations?
$20 so far, not bad, not bad at all. The problem is we have to decided on what game we are going to have the server for, as we undoubtedly all want different things. If you have voted, please post what game you want to donate for. The game with the most votes will win.
I would happily go with which ever got the most votes... A server is better than no server. I love Fear, but BF2 is on my purchase list as well...
bf2 for me.but if whatever, we should pay in 3 month installments like 30 for three months its best that way believe me.
I'd be willing to donate, but not sure about the bf2 server. For starters my ping on it is really crap, and whenever I join there's never anyone on there anyway. Also, with bf2142 coming out soon it might be worth waiting for that (hey, there's a demo coming next week btw!)
I would say BF2 server, because I am probably going to buy the game. I would also support Counter Strike and AA, but a) Counter Strike has plenty of empty servers to mess on and the AA servers cost a fortune because they are Honor servers.
$40 a month has been allocated from members if the poll results are correct....this is not enough though. Any other members willing to donate?
Well let us know. I would be happy to contribute even if it goes to a BF2 server despite not using it... Clan is a Clan so I'm here to support and frag!
would it be considered a donation for renting an honor server in our respective divisions or would it be better to go towards the whole clan and just donate money?
I think they would prefer a server than money ! Mind you honour servers are only for AA and are much more expensive.
