Default So whats the upgrade suggestions - 10-06-2004, 17:09 | posts: 73

Im curious, right now i can buy a new socket 939 mobo, and a winchester 3000+ for like 300.

But i could wait for nforce4 to come out which will be another few months??? And all it really adds is pci-e and sli, which won't really be needed untill agp will be completely phased out (im guessing another year for agp to phaze out?)

So should i just upgrade right now?

Just my opinion, no need to wait. PCI-Ex cards are still using a bridge to accomidate the PCI-Ex socket. It's a bandaid and does not work to it's full potential.

If your going to upgrade now I'd just get a nice 939 board. AGP is solid. In addition, I hear AGP is working on a socket that might give PCI-Ex a run.

If you always wait for something new to come out with computers you will always be waiting.
