IMO, It'd be better to get some pc3500 with good timings, like 6-2-2-2.. Instead of 8-4-4-3 like most pc4000.
You may get higher fsb with pc4000, but you'll have to just to make up for the slow timings those sticks have..

Have you even tryed to see how high you can get your barton? Run your ram out of sync at a lower speed and bump it up high as you can go, just to see if it's worth it getting better ram.

I did that with my P4 3.0c and it maxed out at 3.3Ghz now matter what I did. Then I decided to put in Geil ultra platium PC 4000 and got it up to 3.5Ghz Stable with timmings at 2.5-4-4-7 PEM enabled and it boosted my sandra ram scores into the 5,500's from 4,700's. The highger ram frequency and quality helped me squeeze out 200mhz!!! I sold my old PC 3200, so my upgrade only costed $65.00!
BTW all stock voltages.
