I know that FreeSync doesn't work if you don't enable frame pacing or FRTC. It doesn't matter which one you enable. All the matters is that you have one of the two enabled.

My guess is that you don't use FRTC and if you do disable frame pacing, you are basically turning FreeSync off. That's why you are seeing tearing.

AMD indicates 15.8 in the inf where it would normally indicate 15.11.

Now AMD uses new dwords for the version numbers.

Yup but it doesn't explain why AMD left this in:

    HKR,, Catalyst_Version,,"15.8"

Did they fork the release for Crimson with Catalyst 15.8 onwards?

    Much mystery. Very AMD.

lazy driver team i suspect, the crimsons are broken in just about everything you need them to do

im upgrading my pc around april 2016 so may go back to team green if it stays this way, i know nvidia have their fair share of drivers crap outs (i have used them recently) but i have never seen a driver as broken as these ever

If you don't have crossfire, I don't see any reason not to just roll back to the last catalyst beta. It works fine. Well, better than crimson anyways.

Anybody else with a 290 or 290X still getting the nasty compass glitch and/or 3 legged robot glitch with these drivers? I play on Ultra@1080P. EDIT - Disregard sig compy, I'm on a different machine.

Do you mean disabled FO4 CFX profile as an "improvement"?

Enable AFR friendly and use fxaa until a miracle fix drivers...by coincidence.

    Since Crimson:
Hiccups playing 4K content on YouTube.
Stutter in VLC Player, when I downloaded the YouTube file.
    MPC-HC is smooth.

No the fact that I still cann't change predefined CF profiles.
FO4 runs pretty good indeed with AFR and some light tweaks (bloom).
