Low 30s for hw isnt so bad... You go to a bigger car like the twin turbos v8s like the cls63 then you can complain about the mpg
Yeah for the power that thing makes it uses pretty little fuel tbh. And being fastest hatchback isn't anything to scoff at. Clarkson and Hammond were mighty impressed with that car I think it is one of the better looking mercs (usually I hate mercs, bmws not my style at all except sls and i8). And fact is that your current 2L with 360hp eats less gas then my old citroen c4 with 2L at 140hp
The official fuel consumption that claims Merc is impossible to archive... Minimum 9l/100km going at a steady 100km/h without throttle bursts. if you go 150_160km/h with some revving it's +14l/100km easy but on the other hand, on small b roads there not a lot of cars which are faster
So? It's a superior design in theory, and the amount of boost that engine takes will be significant for what may be a retail-able unit. Would rather they used 5 cylinders though
It is pretty good. Reminds me of the Ford Ecoboost 1.0L 3 cylinder that makes 123 horsepower and 125ft pound-ft of torque. A lot of engine in a small package. Forced induction does wonders.
Optimizing engines with turbo can be quite tricky. Biturbo does not mean better... I don't know what Volvo did in this case though
Look what I found near my house. You literally never see these anymore, especially the wagons. Think this one has the 6.8L Detroit Turbo Diesel but I can't tell without opening the hood.
Hmm? I fixed it. It was way too big of an image the first time, and I'm still ignorant on how to use vbulletin's resizing options.
There's no front plate mount with the winch there. And he took two parking spots because it's too wide to fit in just one
battle between the two vettes in my garage 2015 Corvette Stingray Z51 (Camera vehicle) 2010 Corvette Supercharged Started them both in 3rd gear out of the power band and just pulled straight through it and partially into 4th. The supercharged one (black) is so damn loud you can't even hear the camera car lol
It's a same this thread is dead I've been enjoying reading other people's car stories. I'll give it another bump since more goodies were added to my older Corvette. Methanol injection. I should have done this sooner. At the motor just under 800 horsepower. Shake down testing...on 12.5psi of boost. Picked up 65RWHP and 56RWTQ
Bought a new car today, 2008 Audi A4 1.8T FSI, Multitronic, all the bells and whistles. Photos to follow. EDIT: here it is
congrats on the new ride! Took the beast to the track. Went just for MPH. I didn't want to break anything so I slow rolled it off the line and then got on it. 135.2mph in the 1/4mi. Street driven daily. 1/8th 8.09 @ 104.52mph 1/4mi 11.79 @ 134.73mph <-- Best ET lol (and video below) 1/8th: 8.255 @ 102.77 <-- missed a shift 1/4mi: 11.98 @ 135.23 <-- Best MPH (was determined to power through from the missed gear) Here's how slow I took it off the line to not break anything in the drivetrain.
sounds raspy and mean! Anyways...finally got around to scanning in my dyno sheet. Gotta love the power step up once the boost kicks in. Mustang dyno 640 RWHP / 588 RWTQ. This should be close to 700 RWHP on a Dynojet.
