Is this better than the Fusion Driver (cleaner)?

Yes, I use this tool in stead of the Fusion Driver Cleaner or whatever the name is, I bought a license for it which I regret of course hehe.

DDU is being maintained every minute of the day. Which makes DDU the most recommended and safest tool to use.

both tools are safe when used right, use wrong and said persons becomes the reason there not safe.

Either way I stopped using driver sweeper 2.1.0 around time ddu came out Updated last 6+ years ? vs almost weekly.

Both do say thing ddu just does more complete job at this point.

DDU is most welcome program and was need for long time imo.

DDU is the best and has sorted my problems with drivers a few times ,eg when swapping from AMD to Nvidia or vice versa or corrupted installs which sometimes happens .

Big thanks the the makers of DDU i appreciate your hard work and so do many others .

Well can the DDU remove the leftovers of soundcard drivers or chipset drivers?

as the name implys its for gpu, while driver sweeper removed that other stuff, do to it not being updated in so long that what it actual removes for that stuff is mostly incomplete. Driver sweeper has not been updated in over 5+ year it not much longer and driver have changed alot in that time

I can read very well, thank you very much, I was just asking if it can delete the other types of various driver leftovers and it seems it can't. Driver sweeper still works like a charm, even when it's 5 years old.

Well, the reason I not support this is because I'm using intel chipset and After its installed, you never really need to update it. So, no cleaning really necessary there.

Kinda the same for soundcard, its not as critical as GPU driver.
But there is chances in the future when I get satisfied with Intel/nVidia/amd cleanup that ill give Realtek sound a shot and or creative too.
    Maybe...

Other thoughts, At least you should use driver fusion (its updated) if you prefer that style of driver cleaner. Sweeper is so old it miss anything newly added by recent drivers.

Never really calculated but if you compared DDU and Sweeper for AMD/nVidia or intel removal, DDU clean a lot more.
Oh and its open source , have .cfg files (if I die or disappear, users / programmer can still update it)

As for who is safer, I don't know. I guess every programmer can screw-up something in the code that can lead to a catastrophe.

It's why i always make a manual image with Norton Ghost before using it.

I also recommend to uninstall the Drivers via Control Panel first and after all that run DDU to clear the left overs.

DDU was just exiting silently for me, with no GUI, when I tried running it off a secondary (internal) hard drive. Running it from my system drive fixed the issue.

Yep thats good, also for the newbs, DDU do a system restore point on first launch.
Interesting. Ill take a look at this.

Edit: working no problem from my d: drive.

If you can double check or send me the log(of when you try it from another drive) I would appreciated.

It works on my secondary drive as well as my USB.

I have noticed that the latest two version takes longer to start after clicking "No" to the Safe Mode warning.

    DDU v13.2.0.0 = 9.12s
    DDU v13.1.1.0 = 9.12s
    DDU v13.1.0.0 = 0.16s

I am sure there are good reasons for it though.

How come it takes a while for the lastest versions to be added to G3D download page?

I have been using 13.2.0 for a while now it was released on the DDU site at least a week or two ago?

    EDIT:

Also Wagnard what exactly is GiveMePower? I see it on your site as well, but can't seem to find any info on it?

    Thanks.

Because I prefer to email Hilbert to put a DDU version on the site that I consider worth it.

For GiveMePower you can find info about it on the "Info" tab on my webpage.
