Voodoo2 is faster than Banshee.
Banshee claims to has a Voodoo2 core but i don't think that it is absolutelly true.
Voodoo2 is capable of rendering surfaces with 2 textures at one pass(A wall texture and light from a lamp ,for example, at the same time but Banshee cannot do that.It renders the wall then the light and then it draws them together which it is slower than Voodoo2.)Allong with some other minor stuff.
Voodoo2 faster than Banshee.
Sorry if I took much time.

I agree with the other guy. The voodoo 2 is faster and also the voodoo 2 is probably one of the best supported 3D cards money can buy. Infact a voodoo 3 is only slightly more expensive and twice the speed.

Of Course Voodoo2 dosen't work in 2d mode. I never said it did!I am just sayin that banshee is better than most 2d cards for 45 bucks (Tigerdirect.com) I can't see buying 2 cards and wasting a pci slot for the difference he will see in 3d games. plus I forgot to mention that banshee won't give him the gamma probs that voodoo2 does.

I got 2 mmx 233's for network racing one with voodoo2 and one with banshee. For 3d games the voodoo2 is somewhat better....not A lot better but definetly noticable. BUT on 2d graphics the banshee kicks ass. Real Video is WAY better on full screen wall paper dosen't slow down the system. Paint shop pro is MUCH quicker and the 2d gamma adjustment with the banshee is great. I will admit that the voodoo2 is running on a 4 meg turbo stealth but there is still the matter of using up 2 pci slots instead of one. purely for gaming go with the voodoo2. If I had it to do again I would get 2 banshees

Of course Banshee is a lot better than Voodoo2 in 2D because Voodoo2 doesn't work in 2D mode.
