GeForce GTX 780 Ti makes an appearance

Not really. 5 and 6 series were priced pretty well.

 

If AMD keeps up their game and continue to launch such awesome price/performance cards, in time, nvidia will tune down the prices, no doubt. And I agree with eclap, I had nvidia cards since the FX5000 series and nvidia did use to have more "earthly" prices, even in high end.

 

the only overpriced one recently was titan, and it was meant to be that way cause it's a niche card.

 

If you take a look at the prices you will see that 770/780 are overpriced compered what AMD has to offer.

 

780 only seem over-priced in the last few days before the 290x dropped at the $550 mark it now "looks" over-priced. But considering you can overclock a 780 on reference cooling kinda makes that price difference a wash.

 

the price is also about the same aftermarket cooler 780 or even stock cooler vs 290x and buying an aftermarket cooler. I think the 780ti is going to slide into the 780 price point anyway and the 780 is going to be priced competitively vs the 290x

 

I saw it will be 14SMX same like on Titan and gpu base 950MHz; ram 7GHz at 336GB/s.
