They've just overclocked the Titan, and rebranded it as the 780 Ti by the looks of it.

I just hope the end specs will be over 3GB Vram.

I'm happy to go for 3gb personally, perhaps also cause I never use any aa.

I was happy as well with 2GB back in june 2012, but now, BF4 and 2014 games might require a bit more at 2560x1440, even without much AA, so it's a precaution for future games. Imo the sweetspot is at 4GB, and the 780Ti will definitely have the horsepower for that amount of vram, unlike other midrange cards who come out with 4GB vram as a marketing move.

That's funny, because reviewers had the 290X hitting ~X4950 in Firestrike with the reference cooler. Titan @ Vortez: X4491, @ OC3D: X4561. An OC'd 780Lighting did X5298 @OC3D, and we've seen 290X do 5.5K in creative hands. What a mess...

This just proves that Nviidia are taking the piss. A kick in the teeth to Titan owners imo.

I doubt that this card will be priced like a titan and for a card to come out so shortly after the titan and beat it, while also most probably being far cheaper, is just further proof we're being shafted.

In fact, I wont be upgrading till well after Maxwell if this news is true.

This is how the GPU business works. That todays top card will almost always be surpassed by a cheaper better performing card. Titan was not that much faster than a 780 to begin with, and knowing that performance increases of 20-40% per year with new GPUs is the norm, it should have been expected.

People seem to forget titan was never pure gaming card, but workstation/gaming card

with DP performance left mostly intact like Telsa cards

DP is crippled on 780 an rest of the 600/700 series

Yet still falls short in many compute scenarios compared to GCN.

If it launches at $650 it is still too expensive IMO.

But they will sell. Like the Titan sold in numbers that surprised even Nvidia.
