    Requires 54mm in total.

Measuring from the edge of the PCB to the Edge of the other card = ~59mm

It'd be tight, but seems do-able?!

    I'm nowhere near london :(

What would I need for a VGA only setup?! - I'd also need a new case, as there is zero room for WC in my current!?

well looks ok fitwise...tbh i'd wait until you can confirm the custom coolers will work.

    just hold off the ocing!

p.s you will need a diff case most likely if wc.

Id wait for the customs of these as well :D

That pricing would put it at about £250-£280, can't be right. :p

^ If those benches are accurate, AMD is not making any sense with the 290x. The 290 is way too close in performance, 36 wats less TDP and a $100 cheaper. Who the hell would go for a 290x?

Asus 290x comes with a free door hangar, should have been a pair of ear defenders tbh :D

lol, you lived here for 10 years....I've lived here for 32 years. Which 10 years, exactly, did you live here? **** changes in the US very quickly.

My wife recently had yearly cleaning and 2 fillings done for almost $1000.

Nobody in the US knows the exact unemployment rate because it's only tracked based on those collecting unemployment benefits. The documented unemployment rate is around 7% which is considerably lower than the real unemployment rate.

At $6.60 per gallon, minimum wage would have to double as it's currently lower than the cost of living in most of the US.

The US Nat'l debt is almost $17 Trillion dollars.... The US Gov't will never get out of debt. How bad of an impact the economy is having, depends on exactly where in the country you live. Some cities/states have been impacted much worse than others.

TDP and power draw are completely different....and completely unrelated.

TDP is used for designing cooling solutions. A processor with 200watt TDP, requires a cooler with the ability to dissipate a minimum of 200watts of heat. Doesn't mean that the processor will draw 200watts of power.

What or how much would you say the power draw differs between them?

Question: Would it be possible to offset? I.e. offset the PCI-E connector using an adapter? and then rig something up to secure the 2nd card?

You mean not wire the card directly in the PCI express slot ?... It exist adaptator of PCI express for this. Some pro servers are using this for keep the motherboard and GPU's separate for simplify the cooling ( when they use more of 4x GPU's )..

Cockers reckon around £350 for the 290 non x, which is mostly around all of their 770 prices, give or take £10/£20.

I thought of these cards and could never justify their price differences, but the 290 vs 290x seem even closer in performance.

Yes, Exactly. Would it still perform the same? I.e. gen3 x8?
