Do you mean 9800 series? I'm pretty sure the 200 series came out after the 4000 series did.

 

4xxx was compting with GeForce 8/9. 200's come out a year or so later after they finally moved on from the G92. lol

They slashed them only a month after they released them, i remember everyone who had bought one on release going ape, there was hell on.

Im know very well that GK110 has 15smx, but there isnt such gpu yet or wont be at all.

 

Quadro K6000 has one...only sets you back €5000 over here...nVidia will happily continue to screw all their customers in price and performance as long as they can. Tesla went from $3.5K to $8K from Fermi to K20X Kepler.

 

there is in quadro variant, and titan as is right now is most definately not full gk110 like you said it is. thats my point you were wrong and tried twisting the facts to suit your needs, kind of reminicent of TheHunter :3eyes:.

 

IIRC the GK110 has 16 SMX units numbered 0-15 and the Titan only has one shutdown making it 15 SMX units.

 

from what I read about new amd cards is the pro version is going to be the full gpu whatever its called and the desktop card is going to have shaders disable in the top end card. thats if what I read is true? my guess is a full gk110 chip is going to be released countered by a full amd counterpart

Though isn't that how it usually works for both GPU and CPU models everywhere? Some cluster disabled or a core being inactive for the lower models?
(Sometimes with the ability to re-enable functionality via various means.)

Lets hope these 2 decisions(sell 690 and the above) I made this last few days turns out for the best.
