    That's false, sadly. I've owned a 7970 at 1000 and it's nearly neck and neck, not way ahead like that.

    well i can only talk about 3dmark 11 scores. i never owned GTX680. what i see from my scores is, 7970 is kinda better by 1000 points in 3dmark11.
    See anandtech scores, my 7970 scores more than anandtech scores because their results are getting old too.
    but point is, there is no difference between 80 and 79 fps lol (atleast to my eye)

    I should report you for trolling and spreading misinformation, but I'm afraid I'm the one who'd get an infraction.

    hmm I didnt read that -.- i think i got the best 7970 in world then =\
    my results match anadtech's results. thats why i disregard all other performance reviews thinking they are on old drivers. i speak for my personal experiance.

    Exactly. 7950 is closer to 660 Ti, but 7950 Boost goes toe to toe with 760. That said,

    7950 = 660 Ti
    7950 Boost = 760
    7970 = 670
    7970 GHz = 680

    And since TPU currently use 18 games, that makes their charts more accurate than most others. Some crap sites tend to run 5-10 games and a bunch of synthetics...

    yeah, but your argument that 7950 = 660ti is flawed because

    • 7950 doesn't equal 800mhz any more. unless you're buying the dirt cheap ones, they will run around 900-950mhz on the core. Even the cheapest one on overclockers uk runs 830mhz on the core, there's a £200 one on novatech that runs 900mhz on the core etc, cheapest 7950 on newegg runs 830mhz, the next one up runs 925 on the core. What I'm saying is that more often than not, 7950 at stock doesn't equal 800mhz anymore so testing one at 800mhz is a bit... out of touch.
    • Because they overclock like crazy and if people on this site, people who are willing to overclock are looking for a new card, they'll see those charts and think they'll be better off by buying let's say a 660ti or similar. But show me one card from nvidia that can overclock from 800mhz to 1200mhz on the core (400mhz/50%!!!). From what I see, going by some 3dmark benches I've seen, my 7950 beats a factory overclocked gtx 770 (in real life this will of course depend on the game in question etc), it beats a slightly overclocked 7970ghz, it beats a slightly overclcoked gtx 680 etc. People need to realize that just reading charts is not enough any more when we have these cards doing crazy things.

    EDIT: I'd love to know how exactly TPU test those games, I'd like to give those same games a go and see what results I get. But that's probably secret, so... :(

    Good job you comparing a 6core 12thread SB-e at 4.5 and quad-chanel ram to a 4core 8thread haswell at probably stock with a most likely stock Titan I wi guarantee the Titan has you by 3000 marks on gfx but you make it up in physics. Just checked yep thats a stock system. Here you go my old set up one 670 and a 2500k @ 4.7 with 1600 ram http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/5786299 hint your worlds best 7970 doesn't even have 700 marks on my 670 BTW AMD made their drivers eat 3dmark alive with the 12.11 and up they even listed it in their improvements.

    LOL you round 1694 down to 1600 and round 2357 up to 2400 your credibility is almost non-existent at this point. ;)

    I for on have never claimed the Titan was is or ever will be worth the entry fee :)

    BTW I didn't make the claim that my old system could beat yours I was just illistrating that even a 670 when overclocked is nipping on the heals of the 7970 overclocked. Look back to my first post for reference (when I bought my 670 it was $400 the vanilla 7970 was $500)

    It is also the RAM is at 1600.

    @eclap the only reason anyone still runs the 7950 at 800Mhz is because that is the reference clock I can't even look at 670 scores in reviews because my cards run default 680 clocks plus a bit more memory.

    yeah :D lol i didnt realize. I'm not comparing your system to mine. I am comparing our gpu vs titan -.-
    there is not much difference in 670,680,7950,7970 we all know that. i was commenting on tt's results showing 7970 scoring 8000 some while i do 11k

    Can you post the 8K score you are referencing?
    Hilbert's results are very close to yours.
