For this article we review the GeForce GTX 780 SLI, do a handful of FCAT Frametime measurements yet also do a SurroundView session with three monitors. The boards used are reference from NVIDIA. Over ...

Is there an official price yet? I searched the page for MSRP, $ and 'price' and found nothing.

The MSRP pricing for the GeForce GTX 780 is EUR 539.00 excl. VAT (US $649 incl. VAT / GBP £549 incl. VAT).

    Thanks Hilbert.

If it's $650 in the US including tax the best price I can hope for here is $600 before taxes ($678 including tax assuming there are no addition fees such as environmental). That's a real kick to the balls. An i7 4770K + mobo + RAM will cost roughly $650 assuming respective prices of $330, $200 and $120. Having a video card cost almost as all those combined is really hard to swallow especially considering it's likely to be completely outclassed by Maxwell next year. Sigh, I don't know what to do now. I was expecting Maxwell to be out this year.

Yeah like I was thinking not a large enough increase over my current (about 20-25%) will be waiting for Maxwell. That price though is ridiculous here's hoping VI will beat the Titan and cause nvidia to release the "880" at the $499 mark.

it's a good looking card, i might need to clear up some inventory to make some room for a pair of these.

This would be a worthwhile upgrade for you. Bet the 3GB will be welcome.

Any Vram usage on those cards Hilbert?

Debating scraping my 3x680 4gb to these babies but debating Vram usage on 1440 surround.

Aah, very good question. I will look into framebuffer behavior with Surround view / Eyefinity with the next reviews.

But with 3GB framebuffer, honestly it should not be a problem unless you are doing really weird stuff image quality wise.

definitely, just a question of when, maxwell is pretty far off so might as well pull the trigger on some new hardware this cycle.

Was nice to see the GTX 780 SLI was right on the toes of the Titan SLI scores. I've just listed my Titan on Ebay and bought 2x EVGA GTX780's (due to arrive tomorrow).

    Titan SLI cost = £1600

    GTX 780 SLI cost = £1100

Two Titan's will only give you 5-10% frame rate increase for that extra £500. GTX 780 SLI is definitely the winner when it comes to price to performance.

Problem is that on the 680 going from 2gb to 4gb made a world of difference on 1440 surround.:bang:
