After playing Battlefield 3 for more than 250 hours, I can assure you: this is no hype.

After playing Call of Duty for so many years, I tried BF3 for once. After learning that this genre shooters doesn't need dual pistols and overpowered uzi's in a cramped, console-optimized environment, I can say I love everything Battlefield 3 has to offer and Battlefield 4 will probably offer.

Too bad this game requires teamplay and half of the players think this is CoD.

EA ruined Battlefield with BF3, hopefully BF4 will fix things.

    a bit too early?

    yes!

    hype?

    absolutely not!

    doe`s have bf3 a few gameplay problems?

yes, but show me a game that has not.

    ---------------------------------------------------

after more than 530+ hours of gameplay in bf3 and 1250+ hours of gameplay in bf2 vanilla, i can tell you bf3 was worth it.

-if you like cod style battles, go 64 metro or tdm or gunmaster.

-if you like cs1.6/s/go cq teamplay, go ctf & rush & cq domination & squad rush.

-if you like big maps, tanks, jeeps, helis, jets and all the boom galore, go large conquest.

-infantary only conquest large maps? we have it.

-you just wanna fly in jets? go for air superiority.

-massive tank only battles? also available, tank superiority.

-wanna have a fun mode? also available gun master & scavenger.

    ---------------------------------------------------

    -29 maps
    -hundreds of unlocks
-many many weapon combinations and perks
    -dozens of gamemodes
    -hundreds of stats are available
    -many serverside tools

    ---------------------------------------------------

    lets talk about the graphics!

    better than any cod? yes.

    better then any cs? yes.

    ---------------------------------------------------

    price atm:

    about 50~60€

i spend about 90€ and hell yeah, it was ... it is worth every cent of it.

    edit:

don`t get me wrong! but can you show me a game, with all the features of bf3 combined together in such a good working & balanced game?

    i can`t.

    i pre-orderd bf4, like bf3 and the good old bf2. can`t say, that i did something wrong.

    EA PR guy ?

It is over hyped like most of AAA titles.
Nonetheless might be worth getting, but i'm done with pre orders.

Too much hype, feels like the old atari games where everything was about space and everything went BOOM!

It's an FPS with singular the worse hit detection of any FPS I have played and that includes BF2 and BFBC 2. They can hype it all they want with BF3 they lost me as a day one customer, when they finally start selling the game with the add on packs at a lower price a year or so down the line then maybe I'll give it a look but knowing EA by that time they'll be getting ready to release BF5.

EA needs to get money on the bank with the failtrain they executed last year and beginning of this year. Bad publicity is not good for any company, right now EA has more then enough of that bad reputation ... rightfully so !!

I don't know, BF2 wasn't my favourite Battlefield. I know tons of people disagree with me, but BFBC2 and BF3 fixed a lot of issues I had with BF2 ... like massive maps where there's nothing but open fields with a few hot zones and you have to run like 5 real time minutes to where the battle was if everyone were being *******s and taking the vehicles by themselves. The only map I can think of in BF2 that wasn't like that was Strike at Karkand.

Personally, I like a mix of open fields and CQC, that's why BFBC2 and BF3 were my favourite because DICE mixed it up a bit.

Conquest got boring after a while too, with BF2142, I was always playing Titan mode because. With BFBC2 and BF3, I'm usually playing Rush.

I'm excited to see what's in store for BF4, I'm likely to pre-order it but am holding on to the pre-order until late summer to see how it all flushes out. Plus, I need to figure out why all Frostbite Engine games crash on my rig right now. Probably need a reinstall of Windows.

I didn't mind the maps etc, the thing that really put me off BF3 after 1942/DC/BF2 was the ridiculous weapons upgrade & ranking system.

I hope it goes back to BF2 style with BF4......

What is wrong with the weapons upgrade? That is how most games are now I guess, things don't look to be going back to the CS model.

I mean unlocks, for the tanks planes vehicles etc. Imho it's stupidly unrealistic that a jet's weapons payload depends on your unlocks......

I agree,i hardly ever use jets so i have pretty much zero unlocks on them. But in that rare occasion that i feel like flying one i will get destroyed immediately by someone that has unlocked them all.
