Nah not mad, just can't see why its not getting the same treatment.

7970, not much faster than the 580 upon release, was branded a massive fail, utter crap ect... ect...

Titan, not much faster than the 7970 GE upon release, and even worse, costing a whole lot more than it, not branded crap, a massive fail ect..., instead, its give Nvidia time for the drivers to mature, it will end up faster.

    What am i missing?

    :p

lol well first off 7970 was like 10-15% faster than a 580 upon release.Titan is more than double that. Price isnt completely ridculous. Considering 680s release were 500 each, 690 was the same price as 2, just in one card. People said that it was outrageously priced as well. Well a good high OC on a titan, its as fast as a 690 with more vram for the same price, cant comment on prices where you are as they cost the same in the US. Thats why i got one, im doing water on it, and itll be faster than a 690. Just wait until some better drivers are out for it.

I think I remember something like 8% faster or maybe 12% faster then a 580 at launch

10-15%? Maybe in BF3, yes. But I remember looking at benches since the first day this thing was released, and I remember 30%. Not all games had a huge benefit from newer drivers. The games where the 680 had a clear strong upper hand in (BF3) did, however, closing the gap or even beating the 680.

    EDIT: Ahhh, found it!

Yup, just linked to it. Results were all over the place at launch!

Yup, same with Titan, as in some games, its getting beat of the GE, still, we all know why its not getting tarred with the same brush as the 7970, so we'll just leave it there, as it will never change. :)

Either I read that wrong or we're looking at completely different benchmarks.

Must be looking at different ones, as a few reviews show it slower than the GE at high res in a few games.

The only review I've seen that shows it slower is the Dirt one on anandtech.

Almost every other game at the same resolution it's considerably faster so I dunno what exactly Dirt is doing differently, but yeah.

Not once in any of games that HH tested at 1600P.

Granted, the GE is not that far off in a couple but in Hitman or BF3 for example, it is way behind.

That's pretty rich coming from you (couldn't resist :p) - 3 cherry picked benchmarks.

Why are Hexus using a 3.5Ghz CPU @ stock?

Like anyone who is buying Titan(s) is going to be running a stock 3770K

thats some nice cherry picking, 99% of the benchmarks say otherwise

That's what he said. He didn't say Titan isn't faster than 7970GE in the vast majority of games, especially at lower resolutions, where it's faster in all.

the titan only has 1 driver out, its only going to get better from there, shame I cant step up from evga. 1 titan would be about $440 for me

True, but then again, Tesla K20X has been out for 6 months. Kepler has been out for almost a year. Nvidia are already too familiar with the architecture, which itself derives from Fermi.

If AMD had GCN since 2010-2011, you wouldn't have seen these performance boosts at the end of 2012. You'd have seen them way before.

It has already been reported that OpenCL is currently not working properly on Titan though.

However, Dirt Showdown's Global Illumination is DirectCompute-based. It's weird. Same memory bandwidth, higher VRAM, higher shaders. Titan is also a compute beast. Let's wait and see.
