Actually we are slowly moving towards that 3960X (4.6 GHz) setup not because its needed, but because so many people complain about 965X @ 3.8 GHz.
Well like you said benchmark next time should include both CPU's just to break a myth, lets see is there any difference at all.
+1 I would like to see that also. Even IF there's a substantial difference I would love to see it. It's a damn 3960X@4.6 after all.
I like it also and both in the Titan review would be most welcome! Just to see ''real world'' (i7 965X) performance vs all high end pc (i7 3960X) Even if it just to see the myth behind it all.. I bought a i7 980X a month ago for a really nice price and gonna wait for Haswell/Next big thing.
The trouble with your cpu is that its clocked at 3.8 and it is defintely bottlenecking your cards. I know this because when we spoke in a thread about Ace Combat you said how many frames that you was getting with vsync unlocked and my fps was way way higher. Your fps should be much higher than mine but it was something like 100 fps less. If anything before you buy any new cards i would get rid of that 920 c0, although it was a great cpu in 2008/9 its bottlenecking cards nowadays. I had one in 2008 and that is why i got rid of mine as i couldnt get it to budge past 3.8 Otherwise any new cards that you buy are gonna be underperforming with that c0.
Yes but Ace combat or games who push so much fps show something who are not completely comparable with games who run at 45-50fps on high end gpu, the difference of cpu power is lower... ofc i think there will be some few fps difference, but in the case of games like Ace combat the gpu is nearly unused anyway.
I still think Darren would be better off with something around the 4.4ghz region...so Veteran is def right on that score. But yeah does depend on the game. I suspect that crysis 3 bench is fake...
Hell Yeah!!! Edit: Hell Yeah x 2!! Thank you! *Puts phone in silent and starts the foreplay reading pleasure.
Main site http://www.nvidia.com/titan-graphics-card & http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-titan Well it doesnt look so good, so i kinda dobut it will be so expensive. Although it could be a little different at 1080p and higher OC Edit: just saw HH preview, nice! This could boost those fps A LOT but the price, oh the price 800€ ?? :S
\/ +1 And €800+VAT=15%=€920 or €944@18% or €968@21%. If it was 10% slower than a 690(we still havent seen the reviews tho) I would gladly pay €800-850 for it. *Sells a Palit 680 Jetstream and looks for 2x680 Lightings.
probably GPGPU performance will be extremely good, should also take that into account. but only 30%+- better than 680 and cost twice? hmm it only make sense if someone need a strong GPGPU performance, otherwise... welll we see on Thursday how much it scales. On same note i'd say the GTX 680 is the best card i've ever owned
Well that's an GRAND understatement compared to my previous card. A HD4770 512MB. And as far as Titan goes.. Overhyped by rumors and speculations. I hope Hilberts review(s) will prove me wrong. I really do because I want one.
well if it will be 70-80% better than gtx 680 in games, and cost around 800-900USD then it can make sense, but since it Limited edition OR better collector edition it will cost a "collectable" 1000USD. We see in Thursday.
