Default Nvidia / Viewsonic VX2435WM Overscan issues - 08-21-2012, 01:02 | posts: 2

Hi all pleased to meet you.

My issue is as above. My old work around no longer works.
I have a GTX 295 and a Viewsonic VX2435WM HDMI 24 inch screen.
I had to format and reinstall Windows 7 due to it no longer starting up.

I was met with the overscan issue where normally I would install the 190.38 drivers that were modded to contain my screens EDID. This now no longer works much to my annoyance. When installing the drivers the screen after some 5 refreshes fixes and stays how I want it. However if the computer goes into standby/ or I start up a game/ or shut down and restart the problem comes back until I re-install the drivers again, and so on and so on etc.

I have also checked to see what windows has my monitor down as and it says LCM 24w1 which is not a viewsonic ?

I have also tried editing the registry to contain the EDID of the screen, doesnt work

Any help is apreciated !!

thanks

7up

Hi thanks for your message.

I have solved the issue. Basically I used monitorview to get the edid (of the incorrect monitor that win7 detects) and used those = problem solved !
