Nice review Hilbert. If I had use for a PSU like this, i'd definitely pick it up. But unfortunately my regular AX1200 is sitting in the closet for that very reason. Glad Corsair decided to stay with Flextronics as their OEM on this one.

good review, now I do not wish my psu to pop, I would not mind getting this as a replacement if my ax 1200 goes and is out of stock

First off, I did clearly say in the HX850 Gold review thread that I wasn't looking for a stringent review... I'm already familiar with sites like JonnyGuru.

I read the AX1200i review, and thought it was a good improvement over the last article. Hilbert was clear about the fact that his assessment isn't based on pushing the PSU to its limits:

I'd probably get this PSU if mine failed. However, my present one is indestructible it seems. It's been running warm for about four years with only a few hours downtime.

I've been mega impressed with Corsair over the last few years. All their stuff has been problem free that I've touched.
Nice review, nice PSU -no doubt.

...dunno what the Corsair draw-string bags are about though...

Nice review, like others have said, improved from previous ones.

I wonder if loading that kind of PSU (massive single rail) with 24pin connector splitter + 8pin cpu power splitter and using two computers off that one PSU would be good idea ? Just something to give higher load to that PSU and seeing how well it does. Would add some value to review and without buying expensive equipment as HH prolly has "some" hardware around the house to build another PC for PSU testing.

I have one of those expensive ass load testers, but its use is for more than just testing power supplies. The AX1200 I have will do 1457 watts before OCP kicks in. Since the AX1200i has better components, I would assume it would be able to pull more watts before OCP shuts it off.
