I have i7 970

It's worth sell it and take i7 2600k or i5 3570k?

mainly for gaming, i play battlefield 3 in multy!

i changed from a i7 960 to i7 3820 if it were down to stock cpu per formance it wouldnt have been worth it but i wanted sata3,so if its dpu performance your after i`d wait

No way in hell you have a 6 core CPU. Oc that thing to 4 ghz+ and enjoy your free upgrade. Bf 3 will use all 6 cores

I'm still hanging on to my i7 920. Planning an upgrade to 660 Ti in a couple of months but won't upgrade the CPU before Haswell's out.

Do you find the performance in BF3 multiplayer is lacking? You can test for CPU bottlenecking by lowering your resolution - if the framerate doesn't increase, you're CPU bottlenecked in the particular situation you're testing.

I can't see it being worth it though even if you were bottlenecked. $500 to an overclocked i7-3770K. Just for one game... I'd just lower image quality and make myself comfortable until Haswell.
