I Just don't know what to buy. Thank you to anyone willing to help me out

Hello Uncle Yar, and welcome to the forum.

A couple of questions before we start randomly naming parts to buy:

Is there any components that will be carried over from your old rig, case, PSU, ODD, HDD, etc?
Where are you buying from? If on-line, please include a link.
Monitor size, resolution?
Any plans on overclocking?
Favorite games currently played and new release titles you're looking forward to playing.

Nothing really wrong with the CPU and GPU you listed above but there are newer that can be bought for not much more; depending on what’s available to you.

I plan on keeping my monitor, speakers, keyboard things like that. There is not much I can use from my old Computer. I plan on purchasing everything from Newegg.com I do not remember my Monitor size or resolution I am staying at a friends using his computer. I don't know what overclocking is sorry about that. I own 78 games on my steam account my favorites that I recently played before my PC broke were S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl and Killing Floor. Thanks for letting my know their is newer CPU and GPU's for around that price

Are you sure you can't reuse anything else? Things such as:

- Hard Drives
- Optical Drives
- Power Supply (Depending on what it is)
- Case (Again, what sort of case is it?)

The rest will pretty much have to be replaced for definite if you're wanting a new build. But some answers on the above could make a large difference on how good your new system ends up being for your budget. I'd also like to add that I'm not overly comfortable in suggesting parts without the above information - I'd also very much like to know what resolution you game at.

Overclocking is just pushing or speeding up the CPU or processor past factory speeds or the speed that the CPU is shipped out of the factory at.

Since you play steam games then I would recommend a big hard drive such as 1TB. If you cannot use your current Hard drive. Since you are choosing some sort of Quad core CPU and relatively high end graphics then you should be fine with playing the games you mentioned.

How about something like this?

$100 motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-H77-DS3H
$200 cou: Intel Core i5-3450
$200 gpu: SAPPHIRE 11188-22-20G Radeon HD 6950
$90 psu: Corsair Gaming Series GS600 600W
$44 ram: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 8GB (2 x 4GB)
$74 case: Antec One Hundred
$90 hdd: Seagate 1TB
$20 dvd: Liteon DVD Writer

I'm sure someone can do better, I just did this quickly on NewEgg, I don't know the new Ivy Bridge platform very well but this seems like it'll do the job just fine.

What did you mean when you said you had an electrical problem? I'd highly suggest you get a surge protector before you plug your new PC in! Or a proper lightning protector too if your mains box does not have one.
