Do you have this installed >> Intel(R) C++ Redistributables for Windows* on Intel(R) 64

And you will have to uninstall everything if you want to be completely safe.

Uninstall firefox, uninstall any waterfox,

maybe delete personal data, but then you will have to rearrange bookmarks (export/import bookmarks), download addons, skins, re-enter passwords > try print screen for current saved passwords..

Reinstall Firefox, then Waterfox (maybe try it 2x in a row).

or you can ask here @ official WF forum feedback

Overall it will be a little quicker/snappier compared to WF12.

hmm ive tried waterfox, but it seems to have a FRAPS bug, counter showing constantly in one corner of the browser.
some plugins addons are also not working (was to be expected though).

That's probably because you haven't excluded Waterfox on Fraps.
Any app that uses hardware-acceleration to render its windows' content would show the FPS counter if Fraps is still running.
Try running IE9; most likely it'd also display the FPS counter.

For plugins, you need to get its 64-bit version, but for addons it's weird if it doesn't work on Waterfox.
Waterfox uses the same code base as Firefox, just (mainly) differs on how it's being compiled.

excluded from fraps ? how can you exclude programs from fraps ? IE9 also works fine, just like firefox.

Just trying WF for the first time. Is it faster?

I also noticed the plugins that were in FF have vanished (what ever they were) and only shows up Java, Silverlight and Flash now.

Which brings me to the final issue. I thought I would find which plugins were missing by loading up FF and having a look. I can't. I double click FF and Waterfox loads up. FF is still installed but not accessible. Not sure why and not sure if I should uninstall FF...

it would run right on mine. it would flash and flicker. I turned off hardware acceleration and it works now...might be conflicting with my theme with windowblinds...

Close all WF tabs/windows then open FF.

______________

hm all 8 addons work here, but i had a small issue with adblock plus icon, re-enabling it fixed it.

The only bug for me is missing right-click task menu, its ok in FF14.
MrAlex is already working on a fix.

btw this new autoupdate feature can be a bit annoying, you can disable it in windows task scheduler.

Dunno, it's been awhile since I last use Fraps and it's possible to exclude programs with Afterburner's OSD, so I thought that's kinda standard for programs with application detection. =b

Default IE9 is 32-bit, same as Firefox.
You should try the 64-bit one from Start menu if you want to check things out.

Ok i spotted a fix for jumplist

Quote:
Make another copy of waterfox.exe and rename it to firefox.exe. This fixed the blank icon and the jumplist for me.

And there is a small update to fix autoupdater; just run waterfox update tool.

Can this and Firefox co exist peacefully on the same machine ??

I'd like to try it, but have a load of saved passwords, a tweaked config, and hundreds of bookmarks i dont want to lose in Firefox.

Is their maybe a portable version of Waterfox ?

Yes, as long as you don't try to run them at the same time since they both use the same exact profile.
Whatever it was on your Firefox profile will be available on Waterfox, and vice versa.
