Default AHCI driver - 07-23-2012, 17:24 | posts: 85

Hello

Im trying to solve a problem with my ssd samsung 830. Somehow i always get the message from SSD magican that no drive is being detected while i have the AMD AHCI driver installed. Removing the driver and using windows standard AHCI driver will solve the problem but will result in long load time at the windows load screen. I tried installing the latest 12.6 AMD chipset driver but the installer doesnt work for me. I click install and i get the window that shows its extracting files then normally the installation starts but the installation screen just disappears without installing anything. Is it possible to install the AHCI driver from 12.6 manually? Tia!

After some hours of reading and trying things i managed to extract all the files from the installer and installed them manually. Boot time is very fast now and finally magican is working properly.
