Default Vertical blue line on SyncMaster T260 - 07-21-2012, 16:42 | posts: 1,600 | Location: Boston

Hi folks,

Ive got a thin, vertical, single, blue line going all the way from the top to the bottom of the right side of my monitor. It is the monitor, not the card.

If I push on the frame, sometimes the line disappears. There's obviously some kind of connection that is loose.

I've taken apart the monitor twice, not 100% disassembled but pretty much in pieces, hoping I'd see something obvious or by chance fix the problem while reassembling it.

It didn't work.

Does anyone have some SPECIFIC advice on how to remedy this problem, perhaps particularly on a T260 (or T240 or similar model)?

Thanks

I have a thin vertical violet line on the right side of my 305t+.

It is a known issue and is caused by cold solder joints at the edge of the panel.

The line on my monitor disappears after a few minutes, once the screen 'warms up'.

As far as I know, there is no way to fix it, only possibly get the monitor replaced under warranty (although this is the second 305t I have had that has the same issue).

I'm of a mind to try to fix this myself so I'm interested in finding out where the solder points or connections are, that need to be fixed.
