Default Game Genie for PS3 - 07-16-2012, 23:49 | posts: 20,488 | Location: Netherlands

Quote:
After a successful premier at E3, the Game Genie: Save Editor for PS3 will finally be released on July 17th and will be available on Amazon and several local retailers. The Game Genie: Save Editor for PS3 is a game enhancement device that allows players to write modifications directly onto their save files with their PC and transfer them back to their PS3.

The Game Genie: Save Editor for PS3 comes in a USB drive containing the Game Genie setup program. Users install the program onto their PC (the program permits only two installations in order to prevent piracy) and use the USB drive to transfer save files between the PS3 and the PC.

Using an Internet connection, the program links the user to a continually updated database of available games and enhancements. Users can pick enhancements that could potentially unlock maximum ammo, money, as well a variety of other power-ups. Popular games that will have modifications at release are Uncharted 3, Batman: Arkham City, Final Fantasy XIII-2, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

"The Game Genie Save Editor for PS3 is a breakthrough for gamers everywhere," said Steven Mar, Hyperkin's Executive Director. "The Game Genie Save Editor allows for even the most novice gamers to breeze past the hard or boring parts of games, leveling the playing field for a more enjoyable experience."

Product Highlights
-- Ability to load, upload and back up Save Data.
-- Automatic profile reassignment
-- Ability to trade game save files with other players
-- Secure access to comprehensive, continuously updated cheat database

Users can find the most up-to-date information on the Game Genie on www.thegamegenie.com, through their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/thegamegenie, and on their Twitter account @TheGameGenieUSA.
Finally we will be able to swap save games.

I'd want a gameshark back for modern consoles. Just have it turn off achievement gaining and let you do what you want.

OR!! you could just play the game as intended and complete it yourself.. bunch of corner cutting cheater....

Game save editors and swapping saves are not for the purist....If this works and people get free achievements... it will render PS3 trophies pointless as some no-life turd will just go out and upload all the saves and claim he is "the best"

No, i dont give a rats ass about those trophys. they can take every trophy i have earned IF i could copy save games. yes im not a purist, and i dont give a damn about that either. I even thought about hacking my ps3 a while back, but i was afraid about losing my paid psn account. i wish sony was a bit more easy on the save games.

^^ Agreed. No one gives a damn about trophies/achievements.

Still, nothing new here. A few save-game editors were already avaliable on a per-game basis. The only real challenge was removing the copy protection [which is basically tied to an ID, so once you have one valid savegame, thats easy to get around] and figuring out the per-game save formats.

Because games and the trophies are that important, not to mention how awesome the people are that invested all that time just to have all the trophies are.........

if you are going to cheat your way to a 100% save file, whats the purpose in playing? absolutely none. You devalue your own experience by cheating.

Well, in some games, it would be nice to avoid all the hours of tiedious grinding [which itself is proof the game is horribly balanced to begin with] and just get on with things. Thats about the only thing I ever cheat for.
