Hi. Disable sli and report back. Sli makes the problem hard to notice. Play first scene at ark easy to reproduce

Is this using Rage's adaptive vsync or using Nvidia's driver version, and is it just the one game?

dont worried man, this game is a garbage, I have 2x6990 same bug, when I on the textures detail, is a dirty opengl code, made for nvidia users, but the bad action, is counter the same game. John Carmack buuuuu!

I was a fan of nvidia, Fermi was a big problem, since its inception, even before release, nvidia knows it, but money is the main thing for them, 2x480 crash all the time, year 2 and does not solve anything, http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?s...iew=getnewpost(system maintenance and updates) responses, users were the real Fermi stupid cheated. look at the link. I got out of my parameters, and buy ATI, I have no complaints, the only problem I had was that I could not run crossfire on BF3, but with the new patch will fix. maxpayne3 have flickering with crossfire on, anyway, with only one, the game run good. in rage I've always had problems, like I said, nvidia Carmack married and forget ati users. She did not foresee is that the game was doomed to failure, left forgotten almost or more than half of the players. but I see you came out the backfire. your game is a mess, so much knowledge wasted in a trash can without details, the textures are hurt, I've seen better graphics running on a console.

It's not using adaptive at all. Regular in game vsync. Occurs in many titles to different degrees.

Titan quest is one where it stutters a lot and the game is really light

This,

And maybe try ingame vsync-on, 1 or 2 frames to render ahead in Rage profile (not app. controlled).

Also this custom cfg? It helped me by streaming ~ 285.xx driver.

The game has crap textures but it also had 60 fps on my 580 so why is it so crappy now on 680?

Thanks for trying to help man but I have already beaten the game.. I'm not actually playing to enjoy the game just to test the known stuttering problem with GTX 680. It occurs to varying degree in different games, but I believe perhaps some of the texture loading in this game may be exacerbating the issue.

I created the video for my nVidia bug report and was posting here for your guys input and to warn potential 680/670 purchases.

If anyone else has an opinion I would be welcome to hear it. Why do you guys think the 600 series is so fundamentally different with how VSYNC behaves?

I will but they both score P9700 in 3DMark11 they both seem to be 100% stable

I think result will be the same since so far the 560Ti is only one that works for me.

Did you disable SLI or did you use Single-GPU option? In this game that makes a difference..

I changed the in game settings to match what yours might be and yes I got the 59, 60, 58 frame sometimes.. sometimes 57 frames as you advance.. however this is incorrect behavior for RAGE. 560 Ti easily does 60FPS solid.. only drops are SAVE moments.

RAGE is fine I actually enjoyed the game.. some of the textures are muddy. It is actually the GTX 680 that SUCKS

Coming soon to this thread video of the GTX 560 Ti a $200 card running this game at solid 60FPS when GTX 680 struggles like the scrawny kid in the gym class.

"680 has SERIOUS problems right now with VSYNC."

OP is talking about the graphics card's behaviour and not the game

Have you tried experimenting with different frame rendering modes via the GFX-driver ? AFR1/2 etc ?. It could be it would minimize the issue for now.

Hey guys made a quick video of the 560 Ti not stuttering in RAGE same settings

I'll update the nV forums when they're up. I don't want to see this issue die as the 660 is coming and a whole line of 6xx series GPUs could be crippled by this bug.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BxuYaMk_iM&feature=plcp

I'm starting to think it is texture loading problem now.. same thing in Titan Quest if I load new textures stutters and then its fine until I load new tiles.. not a problem on 5xx series.

Gotta say, the whole nvidia forum thing seems pretty fishy to me. It's just so weird. Are they freaked out by the size of the Kepler stutter thread?

Well, keep it simple. Ask yourself what is completely unique about 600 series, compared with 500, 400, 200, 9000, 8000. Only one thing jumps at you, and you don't need me to say its name. But in what way is it responsible for stutter? I don't know, all I know is that "polling" is involved. Gpu boost must be causing polling to function problematically.

Because of the GPU Boost feature which is a hardware feature exclusive to the 600 series perhaps? Although it shouldn't affect v-sync directly, it may be that the polling the driver does 10 times per second to check whether it needs to adjust the core clock causes these issues?

The 302.80 and 304.xx drivers have fixed the v-sync stuttering for me and I no longer see those 4-5 fps dips from 60 fps to 55/56 fps any more. I still see the framerate fluctuating between 61 and 59 fps though every few seconds but I put that down to the way Afterburner reads and rounds down/up the framerate values as they do not seem to cause stuttering (and if it does then I cannot detect it).

It is not a one-game issue, it is just most apparent in this title it seems. It is also apparent in Titan Quest and other generally low-performance titles that should not be taxing the GTX 680 even the slightest.

Anything that attempts to load textures on the fly seems to have poor results.
