Default GPU stuck in idle mode when playing games? - 06-30-2012, 13:12 | posts: 38

MY GPU sometimes gets stuck in idle mode even when playing games so its horribly laggy, anyone know how to fix this?

I have the amd hd 7690m xt graphics card which is a switchable graphics card.

Am using the 12.6 beta drivers.

CCC OverDrive, MSI AfetrBurner, Trixx? They all work for me. If you want OverDrive to show up in CCC you will probably need Afterburner to enable it.

Try 12.7 official beta june 26.

12.4 to 12.6 all had sticky idle clock problem for me.

12.7 fixed it.

If scared you really have no business messing with drivers. Stay with what your manufacturer provides.

I'll go out on a limb here and say most folks on this forum like the challenge of getting new drivers to work. Scared is just not a word I would choose. It is only a machine.
