Hey everyone, I haven't posted here in a while and I hope you're all doing well. Posting here again because I can always trust the advice of the intelligent gurus on here . Anyways, our family's old canon digital camera drowned and died (literally, dad dropped it in the water during a boat ride while trying to get fancy to capture a shot). So here I am looking for a replacement for it. I honestly don't know much about the cameras and I need to get one today because we're heading out to NY tomorrow morning. All I was looking at was cameras with the highest mega pixels but noticed some cameras with lower mega pixels are more expensive so somethings gotta give. Anyways, here is a list of the cameras available that I can get, so if you could please tell me which one is worth getting, it would be greatly appreciated!! thanks!

Budget is <$250'ish

16mp is far too much for a compact, you'll get too much noise if you so much as look at the ISO button.
