i really can't make up my mind about SpecOps, looks like your typical 3rd person shooter offering nothing we haven't seen before and it looks bland'ish (gameplay wise) so i'm not convinced, although i know i might enjoy this in short bursts.
50-50 chance i'll buy it, if not i'll stick to the classic 1998 SpecOps.

The gameplay is nothing new or complex, basically a third person shooter with you and your squad (Two others.) but what I like is the storytelling and that you are given various choices (Well OK I've seen one so far as I think can be seen briefly in the last image or so.) which dictate the overall outcome, so far in this choice neither one seems all that good which is interesting, story is also what's gotten it up from the average score of 4 - 5 up to instead 6 - 7 with again the gameplay dragging it down somewhat since it's nothing new there, cover can be used but it's not as important since your team is pretty capable.
Speaking of that in Ghost Recon since you're not the team leader your team and the actual leader are pretty capable on their own and can handle most situations no matter what you do although you have some control over certain gadgets and that synchronized kill action although I've rarely used it.
(AI is a bit poor so stealth suit and killing silently usually works in most situations but there are some areas where you will get dragged into a firefight even if you spent the entire level just avoiding and sneaking around or silently eliminating the guards.)
Visuals are nice in both games although Future Soldier does have a few issues although I've not had many problems so far, Spec Ops had the demo files available for editing being UE3 and pretty easy to tweak but here they're encrypted in some way, possibly to prevent editing the files to unlock DLC content or unbalance things in multiplayer since the demo versions ini files were pretty thorough and let you edit most anything, heh.
(Can't edit much in Future Soldier, I moved away the bloom shader since it was a bit too strong - although some amount would probably have been helpful, if I knew more about these sort of things I could have edited the strength instead but it would probably not work all that well if you don't know what to change in the file, ha.)
Wasn't too expensive so I got both but if they're full priced you'd probably do best to wait for later updates and possibly a sale where they're far cheaper.
(Unfortunate as it is prices have increased a bit lately but costs for developing games also increase I suppose, marketing probably takes up a lot with special stunts and events to promote certain franchises and voice acting talent and motion capture is likely not that cheap but I guess that's nothing new, heh.)
Next should be Dawnguard for Skyrim sometime mid-next month from what I've read, guess we'll see but it should be good from what I've read up on from the X360 version and similar sources.
Then I think it's pretty calm for a while until the autumn sales start, could be wrong.
(Dark Souls will be nice when it arrives in August although there's so much varying info on how it's being handled but the game itself should be quite good.)

I'd recommend testing the demo first unless you already did so, it's the intro mission and then it cuts a bit (With a cinematic telling you what happened as a quick overview.) up to chapter 5 and continues a bit there, should give a initial impression of the game mechanics at least and a bit of the story.
EDIT: Future Soldier

The main reason to play Spec Ops is for the story, which takes as little bit to get going. But once rides the line or always making you question what your doing, and who the bad guys really are...
