Default Absolute best safe overclock for Core i7 2670QM for gaming and for daily performance? - 06-25-2012, 17:16 | posts: 5 | Location: Earth

I have a quad-core Core i7 2670QM processor and I would like to overclock it.

I would like a simple way that is relatively foolproof.

What application should I use to overclock, and the specific settings?

Here is a CPU-Z screenshot.

Wrong forum mate, you want the Intel one, but on topic, not adviseable to overclock a laptop. It's reading 800 MHz cos it clocks down when not in use to save power. Load it up with P95 and see it climb to normal clocks.

You can't even lower the damn voltage on intel chips in laptops and 100% can't overclock. So restrictive but i knew it before i brought mine so it doesn't bug me.

My 2500k does 4GHz at 1.2v yet my 2630QM does 2.6GHz at 1.22v x.x!!!!

A 0 MHz overclock would suit your machine. Don't oc your laptop unless you have money to throw away on a new one.

This doesn't belong in the AMD section. Please read the section before posting.

Moved to Intel section.

you can't OC that CPU, the only way would be to mod the Bios that the turbo mode last longer, there is something available for my P150HM e.g. , but trust me that Processor is strong enough for everything you throw at it the most heavy bottleneck would be your GPU .
