My copy of Gravity Rush has been sent by ShopTo.net today so I should get it tomorrow. I loved the demo I tried and am excited about playing the full game but since I found out about it from the Japanese PSV launch the game seems to have gone from being the handheld's must-have triple-A exclusive to merely being a decent but flawed 60-70% game from many of the reviews I've read of the western release. That is a little disappointing really but I'm trying to get too swayed by those so I can enjoy and judge the game for myself. Roll on tomorrow.

I bought Gravity Rush without trying the demo or read reviews. I just knew it would be good because japanese devs still know how to make unique games. I'll have more time to play this weekend but it looks pretty solid so far.

Also bought MGS HD collection because I never played MGS2 & MGS3...

And you know, have to buy these games if we want more awesome VITA games in the future.

Good for you. I don't think you need another handheld with those 2. As for me, I can't wait to see what's in-store the rest of the year. I still use it everyday

It's a shame that there's such a negative vibe surrounding the PSV at the moment as it really is a fantastic handheld with some terrific games that can match the consoles for gameplay, thanks to the dual analogue sticks. I really don't regret buying mine but I wish there was a more positive attitude toward it. Even Gravity Rush, which a few months ago was hailed as THE game to own for the PSV, has been getting relatively luke-warm reviews here in Europe and the US. GameTrailers for example gave it 7.5. True, that's still a good score but I was hoping and expecting that this game would be the one to send non-believers flocking into the shops to buy a PSV just to play it.

That's the thing, I'm not hating. You've trolled me this entire thread simply because I dont feel like YOU. Sorry. It's not for me. I've said it time and time again, it IS a nice system. I beat Uncharted and Wipeout, two excellent games. After that there's been nothing of interest for me. I held hope until e3, e3 showed me nothing of interest. I paid $200 for it brand new, got a great deal, so I don't feel very burned, especially considering I made a small profit selling it. If a decent library of games does form in the next year, I'll take a chance again, for now, I'm not forcing myself to like a game like gravity rush that wouldn't get a second glance on my ps3 where software or lackof isnt an issue.

It's a very capable machine. It just has absolutely nothing going for it right now. I get it, you paid hard earned cash for it and don't want to admit it's a bust. That's fine. Play away. From what I've gathered most Vita owners seem content using it as a psp emulator. That's just not doing it for me, I'll play my psp for psp games.

Ifit had a phone in it I would have got a PSV day 1 no questions asked. I was in the store one in my hand and just couldn't justify it. I "need" to carry my phone around and it's quite capable as a portable game machine. I can't say I "need" a PSV. In 2-3 years phones will have better graphic capabilities than a PSV anyway and if one of the manufacturers desides to actually make a good controller the PSV won't have much to rely on.
It needs a better game library before I can say it's worth carrying two devices that can play games around. IMHO the PSV should have been what the N-Gage wanted to be. They ignored a crucial market and lost alot of potential customers because of it.

Agree^, and the camera quality is a joke and the thing takes sim cards, would of it been that much of a stretch to make it so it could even just send txts. It is a shame everyone is knocking this thing but happens with every new system (look at the ps3, although Sony couldn't allow that to fail).

Not interested in playing psp/psone games on it did that with my psp, had lotsa a fun but time to move on.

Once you see PSP/VITA as home portable devices, you will never be disapointed. I have no desire to bring these things everywhere. That's why smartphones are there. Smartphone for everywhere, Vita for everywhere in the house, console for your HDTV setup and PC as main gaming platform.

Don't get me wrong, I love the thing but i dont own a cell phone so it would've been convenient is'all. Still playing wipeout and a bit of the Resistance demo just to try and get the use of the controls for fps when there is more of them.

Gravity Rush is great. I've just been playing it for an hour across my work lunchbreak hovering around, collecting gems and furniture, doing a few missions and challenges and powering up. It's not as linear as I was led to believe although it certainly isn't a huge open world game like GTA. It does get a little disorientating flying around though and if it wasn't for Kat's hair it would be hard to know which way is up and which is down sometimes, except when the gravity power depletes and you end up falling (ah, so THAT way was down!!!). It's a very charming game so far; distinctly Japanese and it looks and sounds lovely too.

Yes, MGS is out and users have been positive about it.

Firmware 1.69 is also out. Bug fixes, also locks out current hacks.

YouTube app coming before end of June, I suppose it's something to look forward too. Shame the last firmware update screwed up the escape plan demo, I was looking forward to try before buying it.

Wipeout HD and Fury DLC for Wipeout 2048 released in UK today (£10 for both). Really good tbh, quality is suprising despite first HD track being a little laggy, the rest I've played seem fine so far, definately a nice upgrade from PSP Pure and Pulse versions. In comparison though; 2048 track design is more complex and life-like than HD and Fury tracks. HD and Fury controls seem a lot easier too.
