PALIT JETSTREAM 680 vs GIGABYTE WINDFORCE 680

Hi,

Which one of these do you think is the better choice, I had not really considered Palit, but the Jetstream 680 reviews look very good.

Price is pretty much the same.

I want QUIET.

Need to move quite quick.

Anybody know if it's particularly better or worse than the Windforce? cooling wise? I assume the cards are cards, they both have decent overclocks. It's just the cooling I guess?

I don't know about the Palit card but my 460s are gigabyte windforce's and they're quiet. Highest temperature I've seen was 72 on both cards for Crysis 2.

went with the windforce thanks very much as one review said the palit was not THAT quiet.

The Palit Jetstream is running like 10C hotter than all other cards.

And i think i know why.

It has to do with their Fan rotation design, while being silent it goes at the cost of airflow.

Instead of creating a vortex between the fans, like for example the Arctic Accelero Xtreme Plus where all fans rotate the same way. The Jetstream Fans move like 3 Gears next to eachother as a result the Air between the fans being push to the side of the fan casing rather than down to the heatsink.

Id bet a 100 buck if they all rotated the same way it would be atleast! 5-7C Cooler if not the full 10C. And you still wouldn't notice any dB increase.

Thats really excellent information thanks mate, I went for the windforce though simply because I felt it was a slightly SAFER bet.

I've got 2x 2GB Palit Jetstream (OC Edition) 680. Quieter and cooler than the Asus 570s SLI setup I had previously.

Exactly. The guy is looking for attention all the time. When he bought his first reference 680, he said he loved it for being so quiet. Go figure
