Since november the 28nm process have make a lot of progress, and like they have been really conservative when choose core and memory clock, they can now up it. ( they was the first to start production on TSMC 28nm and first to release their cards, allways easy for set core speed to be the second to launch the cards + difficult when you ramp up if there will be enough supply of cards who can be qualified at x core clock. ) rumors say 1050-1075mhz ( rumor ofc )....

Note this will be stupid to release a 7990 at 1000+mhz and not release a 7970 v2.

I believe we will see AIB non reference models with 1100+ clock speed fast enough.

Hmm maybe they're gonna release 1ghz with 2304SP?

Remember this slide?

IMO this can beat a GTX 680 without a problem

If its delayed to August, it won't be coming out. There is no sense, nor sales, to bad had with a dual GPU release in August.

I dont think they have the choice, if they have need to re test all and check for quality level . Its not really as card at 1000$ + sell like hot cakes.

There's allready 7970x2 who have been shown..

perform within
"acceptable" range of the
GeForce GTX 690.
it means today's testing samples of 7990hd performs pathetic , compared to gtx690. Isn't it?

But if it's maybe 20% slower at 60% of the price...

I'd take a 7970 Ghz edition over a GTX 680 any day. I won't ever take 2 though over 2 680's until AMD fix their crappy drivers.

I do however still have a 7970M CFX notebook.

TBH it's hard to track all the fakes you posted on Guru3D, but sure I remember "Tenerife"

Anyway, it's fake. According to....

AMD.

Just as I thought with the 7990. They saw the awesome GTX690 and had to go back to the drawing board to beef up a proper cooling solution, stock better chips and release it running at full speed and low volts.

Whatever they had originally must have been badly downclocked and would have been a joke.

7930...hmm interesting... I wonder how they can squeeze it into the $50 dollar gap between 7870 and 7950. More so, because in some benchmarks 7870 and 7950 are almost the same performance wise.
