EDIT

anyone advice me a good fixed F2.8 lens with 200mm + top end zoom thats fast and silent like my L lens under £1000
why don't you look into adding a fast f/1.4 or 1.8 prime or two? cheaper than a 2.8 zoom and faster aperture too

85mm f/1.8 has a ring USM motor, 135mm f/2L is a great lens too.

I went to only primes recently and now I rarely stop down to f/2.8 lol. My average is f/1.6 to f/2 to add contrast from f/1.4.

thanks Repo Man, i was using 85mm so on my 60D crop body it comes to around 130mm on FF, so was able to stealth ninja a little lol

and yea i can wholeheartedly recommend the sigma 85 1.4, great lens, sharp already wide open, responsive and accurate AF (just gotta expect to play the sigma lottery lol)

look at the sigma 120-300mm f/2.8! it's about $3000 but has constant f/2.8, fast focusing and great image quality. If you want longer than 200mm plus fast aperture, you will be looking at $3000 or more for any lens in that category.

Thanks damien666. Yes its the macro lens, But its also so much more. I wouldn't use the lens on af for macro, But anything else its fine.

It will even catch my dog in full flight lol

Mickyj, you are right about there being some great photos in this thread but don't discount yours so fast. Photography isn't just about expensive sharp lenses and high mega pixel cameras. I think your image is one of the best on this page! Your photo captures a certain mood that most people can relate to and it has lovely warm tones that gradually get darker across the whole photo.

Keep shooting this sort of stuff as this is what good photography is all about.

I noticed the Scottish Highlands above and thought I'd share mine from a few weeks ago. It was a breathtaking trip.

My first ever panorama. don't know why I've never done one before, I guess I just never found the right scene. It's a little under exposed but I like it.
