Default H60 Issues - 06-07-2012, 06:01 | posts: 617 | Location: North Wales

Im having some issues with my H60

Temps are getting up to 90-98c under load and then taking 10 mins to get down to 60c or so

The pump is showing as 4500rpm.

Im thinking there is something like an air lock in there?? If so how can i get the air to move so its not causing a blockage?

Maybe its not that at all?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Are you sure it's properly installed?

poor contact with CPU is my guess. take it off and put new thermalpaste on.

and to deal with airbubbles, mount the rad on the rear so that the hoses are on the bottom. that way, the airbubbles collect in the minireservoir at the top end of the radiator.

Its mounted with the pipes at the bottom.

Ive had it off a few times now and re-mounted it and re-applied paste.

No change.

Sat here with 55c idle temps up from 30c as it was before.

Stock Intel cooler gives me 40c idle and 90c load temps but it drops back down to 40c within about 15 seconds.

The H60 is still taking 10+ mins to get back down to about 55c from 90c

May sound stupid, but make sure the screws are definitely on correctly.

I had this issue when I first got my H60, it turns out although the screws FELT tight, they weren't tight enough. After reseating and screwing them in as far as I could, the temps dropped drastically.

If its suddenly doing that when it was working fine before then it sounds like RMA time.

It seems the water is not getting though the rad.

Ok, so

I went back to scan to get a replacement H60. Got it home only to find out the rad was not square and i could not mount it right, and then the pump was buzzing and being loud.

I then went back to scan again today only to be told that they dont have anymore H60's in stock.

After explaining that ive been once already and that its a 100mile round trip there and back for me so today its now been 400miles in a week just to get this H60 replaced and that im not willing to come back again in a few days when they have more in stock, they decided to swap it for a H70 instead...

Older, pain in the ass to install. My GPU wont fit right anymore now cus the rad is in the way, No fan with it. But the one good thing so far is that its cooler than the h60 by around 5-8c

What a farce!

Outside the case? No, you would have to take the hoses off to do that.

Send it off, yes but i dont have another cooler to use and Corsair what £50 off me for an advance RMA.

Even though its a trek to get to Scan.co.uk's shop its the better option for me... BUT i was only expecting to have to go there once, not twice

ahh my bad I could have sworn I saw one with the rad mounted outside the case...

save up for a watercooling build if you can. (although you are looking @£200 or so, maybe a bit cheaper).

p.s those temps did seem way off what are your idle and load now?
