hello there, so I am totally newbie at overclocking stuff but I want to do something with my system:
- Intel QuadCore Q6600(2.40 Ghz)
- Asus P5Q3 Deluxe wifi@n
- Corsair Vengeance 2x 4 Go (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9)
- PSU: Corsair VX450 W - Ecran Samsung PX2370

I want to reach at least 3.0 ghz but I don't know how
I will be happy if someone tells me the "how to step by step"
Thanks at advance

probably the easiest bit to the q6600 to 3Ghz

FSB 333
Vcore 1.32

I had a Q6600 but my dad has it now and its set to 3ghz, if it gets a little unstable just up the v a little that's it to be honest

3.6Ghz FSB 400 with a V at 1.34 or 1.36

is there an application for that or changing from bios?

you should change everything from Bios.
And yes your should change both FSB and Vcore, do what bloodduty has told you and you should be pretty close to stable.

however every cpu is different, when I had my Q6600 to get it to 3.6ghz I need 1.4V.
which I didnt like coz things started to act up, so I ended up on 3.4ghz at about 1.35vcore
