Because it's really not that bad at all.

And also because some people like to save their money, even when making expensive purchases.

People have different needs. What you perceive as necessity may not turn out to be the same for others.

6 weeks since I ordered my 2 MSI 680 TwinFrozrs and still no ETA (I live in Australia). Just asked for a refund. Found a reputable seller of Palit 680 Jetstreams and I'm buying 2 of them next week.

I actually get my 5 lb. bags of Haribo Gold from Amazon. Subscribe & Save. I get a bag every two months at a slight discount. Can get pretty much ANY Haribo candy (and i believe others) in a 5 lb. bag on Amazon. Kinda thinking about getting some of those red & black raspberries, too..... Mmmmm.

Contacted Gigabyte with a simple question if they were gonna release a 4GB Model of the 680 WindForce3.

Sadly enough...

Quote:
Thanks for your interest on our products, unfortunately we will not be releasing any 4G cards with the GTX 680.

Best Regards,

Harry Chen
Unless i can get hold a 4GB card that's compatible with the Accelero Xtreme III i wont be a 680 owner for a while : / And i wont be getting a 2GB, cuz i seen games like BF3 at 1700MB VRam usage already. 2GB simply aint future proof for me.

I have no idea which resolution you are gaming at but I game at 1080P and I have a GTX680 2GB. Running BF3 at ultra settings with 4xaa and on a 64 player server, my vram usage hovers around 1500-1600mb.

No one can predict what the future may bring but at the time games actually need the 4GB vram for "normal" resolutions like 1080P, chances are the 680 doesn't have the processing power to run those games at ultra settings. So people who bought the 4GB version are actually f*cked. Again, it's just a guess but it is a realistic scenario.

I just got my 680, paid a little more and went for the Twinfrozr, it's a cracking card and a fair bit faster than my two 6870's in crossfire were with less driver/twin card hiccups.

Couldn't be happier about the purchase

Nice

Will you remove the resistor on the back of the card for rising voltage?

@ cowie - You're using the wrong MSI Afterburner v2.2.1 skin there which is why you're seeing the Shader Clock bar but greyed out. With the correct skin that is replaced by the Power Limit bar which needs to be set to 132% to achieve optimal overclocking when using the Memory/Core Clock Offset settings.

@darren
I know but i like this one
its that i never uninstalled my older versions of ab and just went over the top i have ALOT of different cards and saved profiles that i wanted to keep.

The power limit setting goes to 160 on this card btw

i have done the hotwire mod on my ref already and this card will be sooooo easy to do also but in time bro
I'm getting old i used to have these sorta things done to a card the same day or two after i get them, but life calls this time

Tested the other card alittle +187 +350 is the range no more, same as the better of my two asus ref boards so it could be worse.

here in sli

I ran the slower card as main and clocked each card independtly

tri is going to take one ref card one h70 cooled card and 1 stock dcII fan at the end

What would be the best Driver once i get my 680?

I know there is a V-Sync Stuttering issue which is gonna be fixed this month.

EDIT:

Bleh, my order got changed to 10+ days of waiting. I guess the new Driver will be out by then.

I've found the 300.83 driver to run the best for me. Should be on the driver disk.

Here is my run with an EVGA GTX 680 SC.
Q9650 @ 4.3
I'll have to run it OC'd ( think I can get it stable @ 1254 core, haven't messed with the memory after a few runs and no difference in scores )

Cowie this is a little low score. CPU MHz? You have 100MHz more boost on GPU's.

My score on P67 UD7
