Default VRM Heatsink Fell off? - 05-18-2012, 22:42 | posts: 15

I have a HD7870 Video card, i installed Arctic Cooling Twin Turbo 2 cooler.

Everything was fine but today i saw that one of the vrm heatsink has fallen off.

So i have two question:

1) Is it safe to play games while the heatsink is gone?

2) What can i do to reinstall the heatsink? I live in Turkey and i dont see much options available.

Will a thermal pad work? Or i saw a Silicone Thermal Adhesive.

Is this ok?

thermal pads wont work. will need some adhesive tape or some glue like you showed. and VRMs get very hot so no i would fix it first thing, they can burn out.

Yeah i wouldn't play without something on there, they are one of the hottest parts of the card.
