Sapphire 7970 OC.

Just got this card installed and wondering where would be a good place to
start as to Clocking and Voltage changes.

Starting at the 1000MHZ Bios which is 1000/1450 and 1112 Volts which is
Default setting.

Use AB along with CCC to make changes.
CCC showing can go to 1500 clock and 1950 on the Mem.
Which is (Completely Out of Sight).

Haven't played with AB setting yet other than normal box checks.

Any (Getting started tips) from owners with this card.??

Thanks.

Around 1200/1625 ish could be possible at stock. Set power control to +20% and use AB to set up a fan profile to deal with the higher temps from over locking. Notch up the core and memory by 50 each at a time and then run a benchmark or two and look for artifacts and monitor temps.

See where you get to at stock first. Then increase in smaller increments while upping the voltage and report back .

The shorter way is to set at around 1200/1600 and see if you can run that at stock and then go from there!

Thanks,

Will take the shortcut to start and see if stable.
1200/1600 at 1.20v or under my goal anyway.

Have pretty aggresive fan profile to start but pretty quiet.

You better have a wide spaced lane setup on your board if going to
Tri fire those.

Card takes up 2/ 1/2 Slots!

I'm thinking of getting this card after RMAing my 670 but apparently it has gnarly coil whine. What is your card like in this respect?

Not a Peep.

Read the same thing but can hardly even hear the fans.
Just starting to play with it, Idle temp dropped 12c from my last cards.

Pretty impressed so far coming from 2 5770's that overclocked
and volted like crazy.

1200/1600 and slight volt increase.

Normally run CPU clock at 4.3 with warmer Ambient.
Going to start at 4.2 and go to 4.5 to see if makes a difference.
4.2 and no Problems.

Its a start and seeing how it ran so cool under load, Has alot of headroom.
We'll see.
