hi i was wondering- when i softmod my radeon 9500np there are no initial artifacts when i restart my machine... of course, after installing the drivers it defaults to 640x480 resolution 16-bit... when i change the resolution, there are still no artifacts...
the artifacts start appearing when i start gaming or change the desktop bit-depth to 24bit... a few questions: could this be because my machine is older? i have a pIII 850mhz, 256mb pc133 on an i815 mobo... also, i have a stock power supply that came with my micro-atx machine (saddly at 250watts i think)... i know the reccomended is 300watts at least, but i dont experience any problems, other than the artifacts. again, the artifacts are very small and minor, games are even playable and noticeably faster -- just trying to salvage some out of this card i guess! thanks in advance! justin |
