Talking Quick Question to anyone with a Asus Xonar Essence ST - 05-11-2012, 13:13 | posts: 1

Hi all, just had a quick question about my newly installed Asus Xonar Essence ST. After installing it and updating the drivers I only have 2 sound profiles under Control Panel/Sound/Playback one named "Speakers" and one thats "S/PDIF direct". Someone told me that I should have a profile for the headphone amp as well. Can anyone confirm or deny this, as I only have 2.

Thanks a bunch!

i don't own an ST, but maybe it uses jack sensing?
in other words, plug the headphones in.

Mine is the STX and I only have two of the same also.
There is no option for headphone in the window's sound control panel
You need to use the driver's control panel to select the headphone as the output

Select speakers in Windows Control Panel and headphones in the Xonar Control Panel

FP = Front Panel (The sockets on the front of your case as opposed to the ones on the back of the soundcard).

Set that panel for speakers and set the card itself for headphones.
