My thoughts exactly.
And since Levine is on board again (was not directing Bisioshock 2),
this'll be as epic as it can get!

Dont think so.
The (original) team thats developing Infinite did the first Bioshock, not the second one.

The way Irrational is going with the spoilers there won't be any surprises left in the game by November.

They are going the "Valve - Half-Life 2 marketing" route.
Give away everything before release so nobody can be letdown.

I guess the delay is good in a way if it means the game will be better. The last thing I want is another BioShock 2 disappointment after the brilliance of the original game.

Could also mean Take Two wants to push out GTA5 around October. Though I doubt it if there isn't any news about the game in the next month or two.
Was nice of Levine to make a proper statement though.

Doesn't bother me at all. I have zero interest in this game.
BioShock I found to be a pretty big disappointment. Now, I'm completely willing to admit that may be in part to my own expectations. Specially when they announced the game by calling it a spiritual sequel to System Shock 2.
But, it was the pacing and story of BioShock that hurt the game the most. Peaking at the midway point, and stumbling around for another three or so hours was not what I would call "great". Add in the lackluster combat and the horrible way the story just fizzled out with no actual moral conclusions based on what you did...
Good game, but ungodly overrated.
BioShock 2 I actually enjoyed more. Better pacing, a more directed story...
It's not amazing. But it was fun.
BioShock: Infinite... right now, I can't say the game has done anything to grab my attention. They are riding on the new setting to try and lure players in, and really, the new setting does nothing for me.

I’ll get this bit of reassurance out of the way: Infinite ran perfectly. Our demo PCs were admittedly above average: an AMD FX-8120 (an octo-core CPU) and a single card in the AMD Radeon 7900 series (I didn’t have time to verify which one), alongside 16GB RAM on Windows 7. With that considered, I didn’t experience any hiccups, frame rate dips, no texture pop-in, or crashes.
Digging into the settings menu, here’s what was adjustable:
Anti-aliasing
Texture detail
Dynamic shadows
Post-processing quality
Light shafts
Ambient occlusion
Object detail
V-sync
FOV (a slider, with no listed value)
UI margins
Toggleable highlighting of “searchable” or “important” objects
An Irrational developer told me that Infinite is running on DirectX 10, but that it does take advantage of some DX11 features.
...
|
(How do you use a FoV slider if there's no value listed? well it's only a minor gripe.)

It's Unreal Engine 3 so hopefully the usual commands can be bound to keys for quickly changing to preferred FOVs.

Good thing there is an in-game adjustment for FOV. Bioshock 2 did not have any and I felt motion sickness with the way it was set.
